Kid’s Company closure raises concerns over children’s charities more generally

Children’s charities suffer greater share of Government cuts in funding

The Observer reports that other charities supporting vulnerable children are on the verge of closure in the wake of the demise of Kid's Company and BAAF.

The newspaper cites data collected by the Children's Partnership for the report The Nature of the Children and Young People's Voluntary Sector 2012/2013 which reveals that:

The Observer notes that children's charities have suffered a disproportionately high fall in Government funding and quotes Jill Rutter of the Institute of Government who says on her blog:

"The final lesson we can take from Kids Company is that this will not be an isolated example."
