Government will press ahead with British Bill of Rights

Bill of Rights is a 'manifesto commitment'

On BBC Radio 4's Today programme the Justice Secretary, Liz Truss, has confirmed that the government is pressing ahead with a British Bill of Rights. Whilst there had been rumours that the proposal was to be scrapped following the appointment of the new Prime Minister, Ms Truss noted that there was a manifesto commitment to bring forward a Bill of Rights.
