First family Supreme Court case starts today
Re I hearing starts today
The Supreme Court today begin hearing argument in the first family case to come before it, Re I, an appeal from the decision of the Court of Appeal (Thorpe, Scott Baker, and Sullivan LJJ). This case appears also to be the first case where members of the Bar have not been robed to make their submissions, the court having agreed that it would not be appropriate or necessary to wear robes on this occasion.
The appellant mother's legal team is led by Jonathan Baker QC, head of Harcourt Chambers, London alongside Edward Devereux, also of Harcourt Chambers, and Janet Broadley of Bindmans, London.
