- Eligibility
- Submissions are open to individuals practicing in family law in England and Wales.
- Nominees must be in current practice and work in private children law.
- Nominees must not be involved in any current regulatory investigations or disciplinary proceedings.
- All nominations must be made by registered Family Law Week website users.
- All shortlisted nominees must physically attend the conference on 23rd October 2025 and are entitled to a 20% discount of the ticket fee.
- Categories
- Submissions are open to the following categories:
- Family Law Week Solicitor of the Year.  [A solicitor who works in private children law]
- Family Law Week Barrister of the Year. [A barrister who works in private children law]
- Family Law Week Professional of the year [this can include members of CILEX, solicitors, barristers, paralegals, legal executives, mediators, and social workers, as well as other practitioners and specialists whose work contributes to the field of private children law]
- Family Law Week Young Professional of the Year  [this can incorporate a paralegal, trainee, pupil barristers etc. who work in private children law].
- Family Law Week Rising Star of the Year [this award applies to those who are qualified in the field of private children law and who are less than 4 years in practice from date of qualification].
- Entrants may submit nominations for more than one category but must tailor each submission to the specific criteria of the category.
- Submission Format
- All entries must be submitted online via Google form or can be submitted by email to awards@familylawweek.co.uk.
- Submissions must be made on a word document- maximum 1,000 words.
- Supporting documents (e.g. client testimonials, media coverage, case summaries) may be included but must be relevant and concise. A maximum of 2 supporting documents is permitted.
- All entries must be in English.
- Deadline
- The deadline for submissions is 5th October 2025, Midnight
- Late entries will not be accepted unless an extension has been publicly granted.
- Confidentiality
- Confidential information must be clearly marked as such within the submission.
- Judges and organisers will treat all entries in strict confidence, but entrants are advised not to include highly sensitive or personal data without appropriate anonymisation.
- Judging
- Winners will be considered by nominated judges who are independent of Family Law Week.
- The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding individual entries.
- Only one winner will be announced for each award.
- The judging panel have a discretion to award the runner up with a highly commendable recognition
- Shortlisting and Winners
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified by the 16th October 2025.
- Winners will be announced at the Family Law Week Recognition Award Ceremony at the Private Children Law Conference 2025 on the 23rd October 2025 at the Cavendish Conference Centre, London.
- Publicity
- By submitting a nomination, entrants consent to their name, organisation, and summary of submission being used for promotional purposes if shortlisted or selected as a winner.
- Winning entries may be showcased in event materials, press releases, and on social media.
- Fees
- There is no fee to submit a nomination.
- Disqualification
- Entries may be disqualified if they are found to contain false or misleading information or if they breach any of the rules above.
