Child Care Lawyer

Child Care Lawyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Child Care Lawyer to join our highly regarded Child Care and General Family Law team.

We are looking for a specialist care lawyer to manage a caseload of predominantly public law cases but  if you are interested in general family law we may be able to offer some cases in those areas too.

Applicants should be on the Law Society's Children's Panel and be well versed in legal aid regulations. Ideally you will have, or be prepared to develop, a trusted professional relationship and links with CAFCASS and other child care agencies.

Our clients are often vulnerable and in need of a great deal of support. Therefore, an ability to develop non-judgemental relationships and rapport with them is vitally important for this role -  especially when  dealing with children.  The qualities we are looking for are sensitivity and empathy but at the same time a professional and realistic approach when managing client expectations and dealing with other agencies.

If you have excellent advocacy, drafting and interpersonal skills; the highest standard of client care; good organisational skills; and the ability to produce consistently high quality work we would like to hear from you.

Like most legal practices we have been working remotely during the pandemic with occasional office visits. That will continue until the restrictions are lifted. Once they are you will be able  to take advantage of our fabulous, recently renovated, purpose-designed offices conveniently located adjacent to the Leeds Combined Courts Centre.

We offer a highly competitive benefits package with good career development opportunities and a working ethos that values and cares for its team members. We have been accredited as an Investors in People employer since 2005 and we are constantly looking at ways to improve our working experience. We also offer the opportunity to join an organisation with a long-standing reputation within the Leeds legal community.

Applications for this role will be considered on a full or part time basis with the opportunity to work alongside established child care lawyers.
