Guidance issued on committals in the Family Division and Court of Protection supplemented by President

The President of the Family Division, Sir James Munby, has supplemented the Practice Guidance issued on 3 May 2013. The guidance relates to committals in the Family Division and Court of Protection.

The supplemental guidance clarifies the form by which applications should be shown in the public court list (dependent upon whether the hearing is to be in public or private).
The supplement also explains the circumstances in which a person who is not a party to the proceedings might be granted a copy of the application notice.

Whenever a committal application in the Court of Protection or the Family Division or in family proceedings in the County Court is being heard in public the judge and the advocates should be robed.

The supplemental guidance is here.
