Divorcing couple contest value of hedge fund

Fund said to have assets under management of £3.5 billion

The Independent reports that Jamie Cooper-Hohn has appealed to the Court of Appeal against a decision by Mr Justice Coleridge not to allow separate expert evidence as to the value of a hedge fund set up by her former husband, Sir Chris Hohn.

Ms Cooper-Hohn, represented by Martin Pointer QC, claims that the value of the fund, which has assets under management of £3.5bn, is up to £514m. Sir Chris, represented by Lewis Marks QC, says that its value is about £60m.

The dispute over the hedge fund's value focuses on whether it would be worth anything at all if Sir Chris ended his involvement.
