Children in care and adoption performance tables published

Performance by English local authorities shown on 16 key indicators

The Department for Education has published detailed performance tables for every local authority in England on 16 key indicators relating to children in care and adoption.  The tables show performance as at 31 March 2014. The key indicators include: how quickly they place children for adoption; the number of placement moves children have in a year; the level of educational attainment of children in care; and the number of former care leavers in education, employment or training at the ages of 19, 20 and 21. Accordingly, the tables show local authorities how their adoption and looked-after children's services compare with others in England.

The methodology and guidance document and the performance tables themselves are available here.
