Private law cases received by Cafcass fall by 13% in February

Cases in last 12 months have fallen by a quarter

In February 2015, Cafcass received a total of 2,992 new private law cases.  This is a 13% decrease on February 2014 levels.

February was the seventeenth successive month in which private law cases received by Cafcass had fallen compared with the corresponding month in the previous year. In the last 12 months there have been 34,862 new cases received by Cafcass and in the previous 12 months there had been 46,950.
