HoC Library briefing paper published on the issue

On 19th April the House of Commons will hold a debate in Westminster Hall entitled "Children's homes", which is expected to consider the issue of children placed in residential care that is not close to their family.

Ahead of that debate, the House of Commons Library has published a briefing paper concerning children in residential homes that are "out of area" or distant from their families, including the current law, recent reports and the ongoing independent review by Sir Martin Neary which is expected to report in May 2016.
