Mr Justice Moylan appointed Lord Justice of Appeal

One Lady Justice and five Lord Justices of Appeal appointed

Mr Justice Moylan has been appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal.  Mrs Justice Thirlwall, Mr Justice Flaux, Mr Justice Henderson, Mr Justice Hickinbottom and Mr Justice Irwin have also been promoted to the Court of Appeal and will fill forthcoming vacancies from autumn 2016.

Sir Andrew Moylan was called to the Bar, Inner Temple, in 1978 and became a Bencher in 2007. He was Junior Counsel to the Queen's Proctor between 1997 and 2000. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2000 and a Recorder in 2002. He was authorised to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2004. He has been a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Family Division, since February 2007. He served as Family Division Liaison Judge for the North Eastern Circuit between 2008 and 2015.
