Home Affairs Committee begins to hear evidence on Sharia councils
The House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee will hold its first evidence session on Sharia councils on 1st November 2016.
Witnesses will be:

- Ismet Rawat, President, Association of Muslim Lawyers
- Dr Ahmad Al Dubayan, Chairman, UK Board of Sharia Councils
- Dr Amra Bone, Sharia council panellist, Birmingham Central Mosque
- Khola Hasan, Islamic Sharia Council.
The Committee will examine how Sharia councils operate in practice, their work resolving family and divorce disputes and their relationship with the British legal system.
