Protocol: Communicating with UK visas and immigration (UKVI) in family proceedings

The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary has published a Protocol which enables the family courts (the Family Division of the High Court of Justice and the Family Court) to communicate with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), the relevant division of the Home Office, to obtain immigration and visa information for use in family court proceedings. Although it replaces and supersedes the previous guidance issued in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014, in particular to reflect new UKVI processes and contact details, it does not alter the nature or purpose of the Protocol.
