Domestic Abuse and Divorce Bills fall on dissolution of Parliament

Parliament was dissolved on 6 November ahead of the General Election on 12 December. On dissolution, Bills progressing through Parliament fail and, if to be pursued, need to be reintroduced in the next Parliament. Accordingly, the Domestic Abuse Bill, which was at Committee stage in the House of Commons, and the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill, which was awaiting its second reading in the House of Lords, have fallen.
