Met Police call for London schools to sign protection charter

Charter to protect pupils from FGM and other abuse.

The Metropolitan Police has called for London schools to sign a charter pledging to protect children from abuse.

The request coincides with Met Police guidance for schools and colleges on spotting abuse in children including female genital mutilation, breast ironing, honour related abuse, forced marriage and abuse linked to faith or belief.

In September 2020, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) will become a part of the curriculum for all schools in England.
