Coronavirus (COVID-19): Legal Aid Agency response

On 18 March 2020 the Legal Aid Agency published advice and guidance (updated on 24 March 2020) for legal aid providers during the coronavirus outbreak. The advice will be updated as necessary. The advice states that "during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) will operate flexibly to ensure [users] can continue to deliver legal aid advice to clients." The plans take into account the impact of coronavirus on practitioners' ability to operate according to their contract, as well as prioritising the protection of staff health and well-being.
