Acting in the absence of a children's guardian: Law Society Practice Note

In force from 25 August 2009

This practice note sets out what you should do if a court appoints you to represent a child in cases where the guardian is either unavailable or there is a delay in appointing one. It replaces Appendix 8 of Good Practice in Child Care Cases.

This advice has been endorsed by Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers.

The text of the Practice note is available on the Law Society website here.
