Nilsson & Anor v Cynberg [2024] EWHC 2164 

This was an appeal heard by James Pickering KC in the business and property division of the High Court. The appeal arose in the context of bankruptcy, where following a married couple separating and an oral agreement that the wife now owned the property solely, the husband went bankrupt. A dispute arose as to whether the husband’s trustees had an interest in the property or whether the property was now owned solely by the wife.

Local Authority v A [2024] EWHC 2476 (Fam)

These were proceedings in Family Court sitting in Liverpool before a Section 9 (1) Judge. The court was concerned with an application relating to a child called A, who was 14 years old. The local authority, who made the application sought a Deprivation of Liberty Declaration.
